Cookie Settings
What cookies Modus uses and how to control them.

Modus keeps browser storage minimal and first-party. We don't run advertising trackers or third-party analytics that follow you across the web.
What we set

| Sign-in session | Set by our authentication provider when you sign in; keeps you signed in until you sign out. First-party only. |
What we don't set
- No advertising cookies.
- No third-party analytics cookies (Google Analytics, Mixpanel, etc.).
- No social-media tracking pixels (Facebook, X, etc.).
Local storage
We store a few small preferences in your browser's localStorage (not cookies). These never leave your device:
- Theme preference (your dark / light choice).
- Sidebar collapsed/expanded state per docs section.
- Your last-used model in the chat picker.
- "Don't show this again" choices on tooltips and onboarding hints.
Controls
- Clear site data: your browser's settings → Privacy. Clearing Modus's site data signs you out.
- Block storage: possible, but blocking first-party storage for Modus will prevent you from signing in.
- Delete localStorage: your browser's developer tools → Application → Storage.
Changes
If we add a new cookie or tracker, we'll update this page and (if it's not strictly necessary for the service) ask for your consent.
