How to launch a token on Flap (BNB Chain): a step-by-step guide

How Flap works on BNB Chain, the tax that pays your wallet, graduation to PancakeSwap, and the steps to launch a token, on your own or with Modus.

Flap is a bonding-curve launchpad on BNB Chain, the BNB Chain counterpart of pump.fun on Solana. You launch a token with one wallet signature: Flap's contract creates it and puts it on a bonding curve, it trades from the first second, and once most of the supply has sold, it graduates to a PancakeSwap pool. There is no contract to write and no launch fee.

What sets Flap apart is the tax. Every Flap token carries a buy and sell tax that pays the creator's wallet on every trade, which makes it a launchpad where the token itself can fund the project behind it. This guide covers how Flap works, the steps to launch, and what to decide before you do.

How Flap works

  • A fixed supply on a curve. Every Flap token has 1,000,000,000 units and starts on a constant-product bonding curve with virtual reserves, so the opening price is not zero and each buy pushes the price up.
  • The quote asset. Tokens trade against BNB by default, or against USD1 if you choose it at launch.
  • A curve fee. Flap takes a small fee, about 1%, on every trade on the curve.
  • Graduation. Once 80% of the supply has been bought, the token graduates: its liquidity moves to a PancakeSwap V2 pool and the curve closes. From then on the token trades on PancakeSwap.
  • Mainnet only. Launches, dev buys, and trades spend real BNB.

The tax: what it is and who gets it

Flap currently launches tax tokens only. Every buy and every sell pays a tax, set at launch between 1% and 10% for each side, and it goes to the creator's wallet. It is the one lever a Flap creator has: there are no limits, blacklists, or trading switches, and the tax is permanent unless you shorten it.

You can also share it. With a split, up to ten wallets each get a percentage: the tax flows into Flap's Split Vault, and each recipient claims their share from it. Splits are available for BNB-quoted tokens.

Keep the tax low. A high tax makes every trade more expensive, and traders avoid tokens that are expensive to trade. Tokenomics explained covers why.

How to launch a token on Flap, step by step

  1. Decide what the token is for. A tax that pays your wallet works best when it funds something people can see being built. How to launch a token covers that decision.
  2. Get a BNB Chain wallet and fund it with BNB for gas and for any dev buy.
  3. Prepare the metadata: a name, a ticker, an image, a short description, and your links.
  4. Choose the tax and the quote asset. The buy and sell tax (1 to 10% each), BNB or USD1, and whether to split the tax between wallets.
  5. Decide on a dev buy. An optional purchase of your own token at launch, made in the same transaction and visible to everyone.
  6. Launch and sign. One wallet signature creates the token and puts it on the curve.
  7. Share the address from your official accounts only, and run the community from the first minute.

Launching on Flap with Modus

Modus launches on Flap from a chat, as part of the same project as the product the token belongs to.

  1. Pick the BNB Flap memecoin preset in the Token Launcher, or say "launch it on Flap". A Flap launch needs an image; attach one or have Modus generate it.
  2. Confirm the recap: name, ticker, description, links, the buy and sell tax (1% each by default), the quote asset, and an optional dev buy.
  3. Sign once. Modus prepares the metadata, finds the vanity address Flap requires, and opens your wallet. A dev buy rides in the same transaction.
  4. Follow it from the chat. A status card shows the price, the BNB raised, progress toward graduation, and the tax. You can buy and sell from the same chat, on the curve and after graduation, when Flap routes the trade to the PancakeSwap pool.

What Modus earns: Flap pays Modus a small commission out of the token's tax for running the launch. There is no separate launch fee. Every transaction is signed from your own wallet, and Modus never has access to your keys. The Flap page in the Modus docs has the details.

Frequently asked questions

Does Flap charge a launch fee?

No. You pay gas, any dev buy, and the fees on the trades themselves.

Can I launch a Flap token without a tax?

Not today: Flap launches tax tokens only, with at least 1% on each side. For a token without a tax on BNB Chain, launch a classic contract instead; Modus generates, audits, and deploys one.

When does a Flap token graduate?

Once 80% of its supply has been bought. The liquidity then moves to a PancakeSwap V2 pool.

Will the tax make me money?

It pays you a share of every trade, so it depends on how much people trade the token. Nobody can promise that they will, and nobody should promise buyers a return.
