Modus vs pump.fun: launch a token alone, or with a product behind it
Modus launches Solana tokens on pump.fun, so the question is how you launch, not where. What each gives you, what each costs, and which one fits.
Modus and pump.fun are not rivals in the usual sense. When Modus launches a token on Solana, it launches it on pump.fun: the same bonding curve, the same graduation to PumpSwap, the same coin page. So the real question is not which launchpad, it is how you launch: straight from pump.fun's own site, or from Modus, as part of a product and the team that runs it.

The short version
- Launch on pump.fun directly if you want a memecoin and nothing else. It is the fastest path, and you keep all of the creator fees.
- Launch with Modus if the token belongs to something: an app, a protocol, a community you plan to run. Modus builds the product, launches the token on pump.fun from the same chat, and gives you AI employees to run what comes after.

What each costs
On pump.fun directly, you pay Solana network fees and any dev buy, and traders pay pump.fun's fees. Part of those fees goes to you as the creator: since September 2025, tiered by market cap, from 0.95% of each trade for small coins down to 0.05% for large ones.
Through Modus, the pump.fun side is the same, and Modus adds two charges, both stated before you sign:
- 20% of the coin's creator fees. At launch Modus asks to write an 80/20 creator-fee split into the coin, 80% to you. pump.fun records it permanently, so it cannot be changed afterwards.
- 0.75% on trades made through Modus, taken in the same transaction and shown on the wallet card.
Building the product itself runs on Modus credits; you can start on the free plan.
When pump.fun alone is the better choice
If the whole plan is a memecoin, with no product and no roadmap, pump.fun's own site is simpler and cheaper. You keep 100% of the creator fees, and there is nothing else for Modus to add.
When Modus is the better choice
When the token is part of something. A token attached to a product people use is the kind that lasts: on pump.fun, the weekly share of coins that graduate has stayed below 2 percent, and the ones that make it usually have something behind them. Modus is built for that path:

Yes. You can launch the coin on pump.fun's site yourself and use Modus for the product and the AI employees.
Can the creator-fee split be changed later?
No. pump.fun records it once, at launch, and nobody can change it afterwards, which is why Modus states it in the recap before you sign.
Which one makes more money?
Neither can promise that. What a token earns depends on how many people trade it, and that depends on what is behind it.
